General Health

We have general health supplements here. These include  conjugated lineolic acid, meal replacement powders, and essential fatty acids.

Here are the keys to good general health:

  1. Get adequate rest. The Sleep Institute says nearly everyone is sleep-deprived. That has grave (literally) implications for your health.
  2. Exercise systematically. This doesn't mean weekend warrior stuff. It means putting together a plan that does more than lip service to exercise. We have plenty of resources on this site to help you with that.
  3. Eat properly. Most folks are delusional about this. There are all sorts of quack diets out there, and they are all wrong. See our diets exposed articles for what's wrong, and see our diet page for what to do right.
  4. Supplement. You can't meet all of your nutritional needs from food alone--our food supply is not what it used to be. Also, if you are an athlete, your body has special demands. And this is just to prevent going backwards, healthwise. To move ahead in athletic performance, see our athletic supplements.

It's really that simple. No gimmicks, no "secret knowledge," no special tricks. But the question is, how much of this do you do consistently?

Here's an interesting site that provides health care information families and individuals. It also has a vast medical directory and information on diseases and conditions with symptoms and treatment: http://www.diseasesatoz.com

Article Authorship

The articles on this site are authoritative, because:

  • Every contributor is an expert in his or her field.
  • The articles comply with the accepted principles of the bodybuilder literature.
  • The articles comply with the teachings of such luminaries as 8-time Mr. Olympia Lee Haney.

Where an article is not bylined with a specific author's name, it was written by Mark Lamendola (see photos on home page and elsewhere on this site). Mark is a 4th degree blackbelt, has not been sick since 1971, and has not missed a workout since 1977. Just an example of how Mark knows what he's talking about: In his early 50s, Mark demonstrated a biceps curl using half his body weight. That's a Jack LaLanne level stunt. Few people can even come close. If you want to know how to build a strong, beautiful body, read the articles here.
