Food bars

The MRP provides a necessary nutritional foundation, but isn't very portable. You can't for example, whip a blender out of your pocket while you are on a plane and make yourself an MRP-based shake.

That's where food bars (also called protein bars) come in--they are highly portable. There is a cost to the portability, however--extra processing, which reduces nutritional value a bit. So, these are really for travel situations.

Most of the bars on the market are junk: loaded with sugar and low-quality ingredients. The ones we list here may not include your favorite bar, for this very reason.
