Natural Foods Diet Exposed

The truth about the Natural Foods Diet

Diets exposed list | Articles index

Jack LaLanne says, "If it's made by man, I don't eat it." It's hard to argue with Mr. LaLanne--the results speak for themselves.

The idea behind this diet is that you improve your health by avoiding foods that are processed. The more processed foods are, the greater the health risk. Processing tends to destroy nutrients and add toxins.

The problem with this diet is that it is an incomplete philosophy. Going back to Mr. LaLanne for a moment, he espouses that the less processed food is--the better. But, take that in context (as he does). This is only a dietary principle. If your only dietary plan is to avoid processed foods, you have an incomplete plan.

Follow this principle, and make it a core component of your dietary philosophy. However, you must go further than that. This diet eliminates an entire class of "bad," but that is just a starting point. You must also address the "good" and identify--from among unprocessed foods--what you should be eating, how much, and when.
